| As the year winds down, I think about all that i
have to be thankful for. On the shorter terms, I had a great Christmas
and my camping trip to West Texas was awesome. Leaving Tuesday, we
endured the 450 mile drive to Balmorhea and Hung out there a night and
swam in the 75* springs i nthe morning. It was natural so theres like
catfish and all these little tetra fish swimming around you. It was
really kool. The night after we went to see the MARFA LIGHTS. As much
hype as they were getting for being an unexplained phenomena, I really
wasn't blown over by them. It just kinda looked like someone shining a
flashlight in the distance. Although I did get some great pictures. The
next day and night consisted of hanging out at McDonald Observatory.
Some of the stories they told us about the constalations were really
interesting. I felt like I was in Mrs. Woodruff's class learning about
mythology. I think the most interesting thing was the fact that when
you look in a telescope, your not actually looking at whats happening
right now, but around 1500 to even 3 million years ago. Their so far
away that by the time the light gets here, it's pretty much old news.
It's like the sun. If it were to just spontaneously explode we wouldnt
know about it for 7 minutes. Puts things in a different perspective.
Anyways, the trip was great and I got to have alot of meaningful
experiences.
On a grander scale, this year has been amazing.
Starting high school has not only given me alot of new experiences, but
so many more friends to enjoy. The people in my life truly make it
worth living. It's amazing to me how much I've gotten to know some
people and in some cases, see some old friends new colors. And even
though I'm going to be spending my New Years alone in a hotel room with
my laptop and cell phone(call me if you can), Thats OK b/c it's not
about the celebration of bringing in the New Year, it's about being
able to look back and be thankful and happy for what you got and
looking forward to whats coming in our coming years. Thank You to all
the people to made my year great.
Especially:
- My spanish buddy Pepe
- The Girl who sends me Incredible letters.
- Everyone still at Harwood, Especially a couple
- The First one to comment on every entry
- My photo buddy
- The one that has problems with their Pool
- The one who has moved away but still lives close in my heart
- The one who got away
- The one who I'm trying to real in.
- My Driver during marching season
- The college kids who seem to be Homesick
- ET
- Balla
- That one harmony girl
- And Pretty much Everyone who I come in contact with!
Thank you all for being there for me. I hope all of
you have been blessed with as good of a year as I have. I guess I've
just learned to just to let the little things go. May '06 be just as
good.
Be good to each other and party hard,
L
